There’s been a lot of hype surrounding Artificially Intelligent writers lately. Articles and companies alike have been promoting the so-called ‘rise of AI writers’ all throughout 2021, but to most people it remains unclear if they are something to look out for or not.
If we’re to believe the ads going around social media, AI writers have become indistinguishable from human writers. But here at Live Like Anime, we’ve had our doubts about that. And rather than just guess as to how good or bad these AI programs are, we decided to give them a try.
So we purchased a license to use a popular AI based writing system and decided to give it a chance to tell us about its favorite One Piece arc: Thriller Bark (no idea why it chose that).
After some communication with the bot, we ended up agreeing on this as the article description before setting it loose on its own:

The only thing that stands in their way is a pirate ship which they must capture to escape from the island. Thriller Bark arc spans 13 episodes and this arc deals with Nico Robin and her reasons for joining the crew.
Gecko Mask’s Background & His Relationship to Gekko Moriah
The Shichibukai Gecko Mask, real name Doran, is a former member of the Roger Pirates. He was in fact given permission by Gol D Roger himself to draw on their Jolly Roger when he joined the crew. As for his relationship with fellow Shichibukai Gekko Moriah, they once faced off against each other in the New World. Gecko Mask defeated Moriah and his crew single-handedly without a scratch on him.
The Appearance of Thriller Bark and its Creation
Thriller Bark is an island that consists of forests, deserts , mountains and valleys; it is said that the island is bigger than all 4 blues combined. Its main attraction of course, are its spooky forests that even zombies call home. There are of course the three main components which make up Thriller Bark; there’s the Underwater Cave where Moria’s laboratory is located at, there’s also a Ship graveyard-cum-training field that holds a secret to Thriller Bark’s power and lastly, there’s the 1000-year old Mast Mansion which is the main residence of Gekko Moriah.
How Gecko Mask Captured Thriller Bark
Gecko Mask invaded Thriller Bark for revenge against its creator Gekko Moria . In order to gain more power, he allowed himself to be turned into a half-zombie via Moria’s Devil Fruit ability. The plan worked, but after the process was done Gecko Mask wanted to turn back into human though Moriah said that it wasn’t possible. This angered Gecko Mask who then went on Thriller Bark and killed off every single crew member, and held Gekko Moriah’s shadow in his grasp.
Gecko Mask & His Half-Zombie Army
Gecko Mask (Doran) displayed the ability to be able to control his half-zombies using his spirit but just like when he was an actual zombie, he will lose consciousness if someone severs his shadow from his body. The half-zombies have superhuman strength, but cannot feel pain or fatigue when fighting so they tend to fight recklessly and don’t care about their wounds . When a half-zombie’s shadow is severed from its main body, it will turn into dust in a matter of seconds.
The Plan & the Hit List
Thriller Bark gained its popularity through rumours saying that it was home to real monsters. Being in possession of a devil fruit ability, Moria went around the New World and gathered pirates with unique abilities to join his crew. Gecko Mask is one of them along with three other Shichibukai ( Boa Hancock, Dracule Mihawk and Doflamingo).
Gekko Moriah’s goal was to gather strong people through using his devil fruit power, turn them into half-zombies so he could have an army of the strongest pirates in the world at his disposal. The Straw Hat Pirates defeated Gecko Mask ultimately but not before they were taken down by nearly half of Moriah’s hit list.
The Straw Hat Pirates vs Gecko Moria
Enraged, Gecko Mask took his anger out on the Straw Hat Pirates that were trying to leave Thriller Bark with a ship. He ordered Perona, a Shichibukai and one of Gekko Moria’s subordinates to defeat Luffy but she failed as well. Gecko Mask was too strong for even Luffy to beat him on his own. It wasn’t until Zoro threw the ship that they used to leave Thriller Bark at Moria’s face that he finally gave up.
